I’ll be playing a short set of mostly new songs at the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Monday 8th June. The gig is hoping to aid the struggling FBi radio who have been a great supporter of my music along with many other Australian musicians and creative types. This show at the Metro is presented by Spunk Records, and I’m delighted to be playing with a bunch of goodies.. like New Buffalo, Jack Ladder, Holly Throsby, Machine Translations, etcetera, etcetera. It will be a jam-packed evening and I’m looking forward to it being my first show here in quite a long time.

Below is the video for the first song from my soon to be released album… Big thanks to Damon & Stephen from Head Pictures for their hard work. Thanks to everyone who worked on the clip with me that day. It was fun. For someone who spent much of her suburban childhood riding a stick with a paper horse head and pretending that her modest backyard was indeed a farm, to spend the day leading a beautiful, big real horse through rolling paddocks was a dream come true. Leo (the horse) was a real sweetheart. He was a true professional and he made my job so much easier, and boy did we have a laugh! I’m sure we’ll be working together again. We’ve been keeping in touch ever since.

I’ll be chatting with Zan Rowe next Friday morning 15th May from 9am on Triple J Radio. I’m choosing some songs to play that relate to my new album As Day Follows Night.. songs that were inspirational in the conceiving, writing & recording.
Thanks to people who’ve written some nice comments about the new song All I Want. For those who haven’t heard it yet, it’s up on myspace.

Biddy Bags, the social enterprise of which I’m a patron is having a launch for their new range of tea cosies (which was on the brink of becoming a dying art!) … and a Mother’s Day Market. Biddy Bags is Brisbane based so unfortunately I can’t make it, but everyone is welcome this Friday 8th May at Bleeding Heart Gallery, 166 Ann St Brisbane (Old School of Arts Building) at the very reasonable hour of 3pm until 8pm. www.biddybags.com.au.

I’m real excited that a song from my new record is finally “out there”… I hear it’s been played on the radio a couple of times already, and now it’s been popped up on myspace. So, make yourself cosy in front of the computer and have a listen…
