Hey there, sorry it’s been a while.. I’m just recovering from the excitement of the record finally being out here in Australia.  I also had a ball at Splendour In The Grass, so big thanks to everyone who showed up to see us play.  And wow, we were so rock’n’roll!.. Jeff smashed up his drum kit at the end of our set!  I just wish I’d rehearsed some cool rock moves to match. Instead I stood there with my hands covering my mouth.  It was his beautiful old kit after all! Anyhow, I was glad to see some great music over the weekend.. Dappled Cities, The Middle East, Bridezilla and The Flaming Lips were highlights for me.

I write this from Cooktown (Far North Queensland) where I’m about to do a bit of an avant garde classical operatic kinda thing (as you do?!) It’s part of the Queensland Music Festival and the performance is called ‘Laid In Earth’.  There’s quite a large group of us.. two percussionists, violin, saxophone, clarinet, flute, piano. It’s very windy up here so we’re hoping the outdoor stage will work out to be a good idea come Saturday night.  We’re performing from a stage that looks like a ship.  It’s right near the water and the sunset was pretty fantastic this evening as we were rehearsing.  I don’t want to make you jealous, but it’s going to be 25 degrees up here tomorrow.  I might even get a tan.. although I guess that’s unlikely.

In other news, I’m heading back to Sweden next week to play some shows. I’m also playing in Denmark and one in London on the way home. So, spread the word if you’ve got friends in those parts of the world.

One last sleep and then As Day Follows Night is on the shelves of record stores in Australia. In the meantime, here’s a link to some versions I did of some of songs from the album for Shoot The Player.  We recorded this a couple of days before I left Sydney for Stockholm to record… www.shoottheplayer.com.

Making Of

July 7, 2009

There’s a couple of short clips that have been put together about the making of As Day Follow Night. Click on the link below to see one.. it features some little interviews with myself, Bjorn (Producer)  & Lasse (Mix Engineer).

In other news, I’ll be performing ‘All I Want’ on  ‘Sunrise’ on Channel 7 on Friday morning at approximately 7:40am.

As Day Follows Night  is the feature album on Triple J all this week.  I feel very proud.  This week feels a bit like Christmas with the record out in Australia on Friday.  So, to begin the exciting week ahead I’ll be waking up very early (just like Christmas morning) to talk about it all on Triple J.  So, if you want to get up early too, I’ll be on the radio at 7:30am tomorrow (6th July).
